How to use the Brolly app in Hootsuite

Yes, you can view and update your Brolly Feed and messages from within Hootsuite by installing the Brolly app!

The Brolly app for Hootsuite allows you to view your social media archive from within Hootsuite, and you can also tag records, add notes and see the details of individual archived records.

Brolly holds your archive securely, keeping you compliant in real time, day and night, while saving time, money and resources.

Why you should be archiving your social media records with Brolly

What you need

  1. A Hootsuite account
  2. Social media channels
  3. A Brolly account (if you don’t already have Brolly you can register for a free trial from within Hootsuite!)

How to install Brolly into Hootsuite

  1. From your Hootsuite profile, choose the App Directory
  2. Once the App Directory opens, search for Brolly
  3. Click Install
  4. The App Installed popup allows you to select whether you want the Brolly app to show the Brolly Feed (posts, comments) or Brolly Messages, or both.

  5. You can also choose whether to add Brolly to a new tab in Hootsuite, or an existing tab
  6. When done, click Finish

Using Brolly from within Hootsuite

Brolly Feed

View: In the Brolly Feed stream in Hootsuite you can see all your archived social media records. Posts, comments and messages show in descending order. Scroll through to see older records in your archive.

Search:  Click the Search button to perform a simple search or an advanced search in the Brolly Feed.

Filter: Click the Filter button to filter by account, post type, actions (e.g. create, edit, delete, hide), date range or more.

Brolly Messages

View: In the Brolly Messages stream in Hootsuite you can see the archived direct message records for the connected accounts where messages have been included. Conversations show in descending order. Scroll through to see older records in your archive.

Search:  Click the Search button to perform a simple search or an advanced search of messages.

Filter: Click the Filter button to filter by account.

Uninstalling the app

You can remove Brolly app from your Hootsuite streams.

  1. From your Hootsuite profile, choose the App Directory
  2. Once the App Directory opens, search in your installed apps for Brolly
  3. Click Installed and the button changes to Uninstall
  4. Hootsuite  asks you to confirm the removal of the app
  5. Confirm the uninstall and a success message appears. Brolly is now uninstalled from your Hootsuite account.
  6. You can still use Brolly in the Brolly app at app.brolly.com.au
